There are many advantages to choosing to stay at hostels rather than hotels. Price may well be the number one advantage, closely followed by freedom of choice.

When you stay at a hostel you can choose the level of service you prefer. If you like your comforts then you can pay a bit more and have breakfast, sheets and a cleaning service included in the price. Should you, on the other hand, prefer to spend your holiday money on other things, you can opt for simpler, less expensive accommodation. Almost all our hostels provide their guests with access to a kitchen and laundry room, which means that you can save money by making your own meals and washing your own clothes.

 

Friendly is the key word!

Perhaps access to a kitchen and other communal areas is the main reason why so many people love staying at hostels. Our kitchens seem to work as international meeting places with a friendly atmosphere where you can meet people that you might not otherwise have ever come into contact with. Hostels are generally relaxed and informal places where it is easy to get to know the other guests. The majority of the hostels are also family-run businesses with a personal touch that are much more hospitable than large hotel chains.

 

Flexible and close

Another important advantage of hostels is that you do not need to make reservations for a full week. You can, instead, spend a few nights at one hostel and then move on to somewhere different. Hostels make a perfect alternative for last minute road trips, although you should keep in mind that hostels are very popular during the summer, especially those situated close to large towns or popular tourist attractions. It is advisable to check availability in advance during peak season.
